Elly Hurley
iPhone Devotee
By Andrew Georgiou

Who you? The first person in Sydney in line for the new iPhone which goes on sale tomorrow.
Are you a local gal? Yes I am, and I'm very excited that the Apple store is finally here. It's about time.
Did you set yourself the challenge of being first? Yes. There's been a lot of hype about the release of the iPhone and I know that once they sell out, they won't have another shipment in for a week or so.
It's 4pm now. How long will you have to wait? The iPhones are apparently arriving at midnight and they're selling from 8am tomorrow.
So you're going to camp outside the Apple store overnight? It begs the question: Why? My friend Helen badly wants one too, so we thought we'd take turns queuing. She's about to head off and get food. It's going to be fun.
What do you think of Apple's secretive marketing strategy? I think the hype is fantastic. Everyone wants one and I'm going to be the first.
Were you here for the opening of the Apple store too? We came down, yes, but the line of people looked way too long so we learned our lesson this time.
So who will be the first person you call? To be honest I haven't even decided what call plan I'm going on yet - that's the big problem.
It's a cold night. We hope your fingers aren't too numb to make that call when you finally get your hands on the phone. Thanks. I do too.
