Education Week 2008

From Monday 26 May to Sunday 1 June, schools right across the state will host a range of activities and events showcasing the quality and diversity of education in NSW.

Education Week 2008

These Education Week celebrations will include everything from workshops and sample lessons to school expos and community projects demonstrating that your local school is a fun place to be.

North

Cross-Cultural Performance FREE Thu 29 May. Lane Cove West Public School, Avalon Ave, Lane Cove West 2066. (02 9427 4743). 11.30am. The kids of Lane Cove West Public School will be performing the seven dances they have learned, all originating from different countries. This colourful performance will take place in the covered outdoor learning area)and be followed by classroom visits and picnic lunch from 12.15pm.

South

Walk-A-Thon FREE Wed 28 May. Beverly Hills Public School, Cnr Stoney Creek & King Georges Rd, Beverly Hills 2209. (02 9580 5074). 9.30am-10.30am. Visitors are welcome to don their runners and walk a few laps with the teachers, parents and students of Beverly Hills Public School.

West

Performance, Assembly & Open Day FREE Wed 28 Mar. Clemton Park Public School, 185 Bexley Rd, Earlwood 2206. (02 9718 4483). From 9am. Every student at Clemton Park Public School will perform in this show, which will also feature special interest groups such as Greek dancing, Italian dancing, the School Band, Choir, Keyboard and Recorder groups.

City

Gala Celebration FREE Sun 1 Jun. Tumbalong Park & Convention Centre Forecourt, Darling Harbour 2000. 12pm-2pm. The culmination of Education Week 2008 celebrations. Bring a picnic down to Darling Harbour and watch the Parade of School Flags, student performances, circus acts, and much, much more.
