Final Cuts
Shorts on the latest in Sydney film.

Where's my print?
The Art Gallery of NSW's connoisseur/curator Robert Herbert is frazzled because the print of one his films has been lost in transit, right on the eve of a special program of Biennale screenings. But tonight (June 25) the double bill is locked in. Anemic Cinema, directed by the most popular surrealist and Dada-ist Marcel
Duchamp in 1926 in collaboration with photographer Man Ray will screen with Alfred Hitchcock's mesmerising Vertigo - perhaps someone loses their equilibrium at the top of a tower? Obviously the theme is concentric circles and other dizzying optical effects.
AFC doles out grants
The Australian Film Commission handed out The Screen Business Venture Program last week, a parcel of $720,000 in grants and loans to four local independent production companies: Hoodlum, Porchlight Films, Matchbox, and Essential Media and Entertainment.
Script from history

Maxi goes to a mini
If you haven't been thoroughly frocked off by Sex And The City, it's time for some reality action.
From Maxi to Mini, is a challenging and hilarious new frockumentary about Sydney's most family friendly drag Queen, Maxi Shield, and her attempt to lose 15 kilos in 12 weeks so she could fit into a size 12 cast-
off from Liz Hurley's wardrobe. There will be a pink carpet gala premiere this Saturday 28 June at City Gym (Maxi's personal sponsor). 107 Crown street, East Sydney.
