Sydney's Best Hotel Bars

Cruise Bar

For cracker classics and innovative drinks long and short it's hard to go past the speccy terrace balcony and Harbour views afforded here.
Level 1, Overseas Passenger Terminal, Circular Quay 2000. (02 9251 1188).

36 Degrees Bar

A gigantic model of a working volcano? Hells bells, yes. It's may not be the sort of bar you'd go to hear the dulcet cords of Brahms but it's brilliant fun and a great experience.
Star City Level 2, 80 Pyrmont St, Pyrmont 2009. (02 9777 9000).

Red Belly

Great rum selection, well made cocktails and an interesting interior. Pity about the plasmas spewing Fashion TV, but they're built low enough into the walls that you can ignore it.
15 Springfield Ave, Potts Point 2011. (02 8988 6999).

Blue Horizons

A huge cocktail selection, amazing views (you can see the opera house, Darling Harbour and the Harbour Bridge from up here) and attentive staff make this a perfect place for an after dinner drink. The Shangri-la 176 Cumberland St, The Rocks, 2000. (02 9250 6000).
