Hey, don't throw away that sofa that grandma threw up on last Christmas. Sell it! Those musty old Mills and Boons? Someone will want them. The spirit of eBay hits the streets this weekend with Woollahra Council's Secondhand Sunday.
The cashed-up residents of Woollahra, Paddington and Edgecliff are encouraged to run garage sales, and anyone and everyone are invited to buy those saleable goods that would instead be thrown on the tip for Monday's Quarterly Clean-up.
Some folk just can't be arsed with the haggling and leave great household items on the street as a free-for-all. The community mingles, the landfill is reduced and you might even score a sofa with granny sick. For locations of sales in the Clean-up Zone, consult the shopper's map on Woollahra Council's website.
